Oak Forest Heritage Preserve
A peaceful preserve with about 2-mile paved and unpaved loop trails. Good for walking, biking, bird-watching, wildlife viewing.
Forest Preserves of Cook County trails & preserves around Oak Forest
These include Midlothian Reservoir, Bremen Grove, etc. Lots of green space, trails for hiking or walking, fishing spots.
George Dunne National Golf Course
If you’re into golfing, this is considered one of the better public courses in the region. Scenic, tree-lined, with lakes.
Chicago Gaelic Park
A cultural & event venue. They host Irish heritage festivals, sports events (rugby, etc.), weddings, and more. Good for both outdoor and indoor events depending on schedule.
Local Parks & Community Recreation
Oak Forest Park District
Offers many park options, walking trails, playgrounds, fitness/recreation classes, youth sports, camps, etc. The “Zone Fitness Center” is part of this for more structured activity.
Smaller neighborhood parks
Such as Convent Park, Friendly Oaks Park, Heritage Park, etc. Good for casual strolls, kid-friendly outings, picnics.
